We are deep in production of our first print issue of Hornmag. It's not all computer bleep blap bloop - we also have to take photos of our issue-one subjects. We had the pleasure of shooting Mr. Turk Pipkin for one of our features, and were given access to shoot in the recently renovated Paggi House in downtown Austin, Texas.

Pipkin was in the process of preparing for “Light Work for Kenya.”

Here's a press release excerpt and ticket details:

… a one-night gallery exhibit and sale on Saturday, Sept. 7, celebrating the hotel’s renovation of Austin’s historic Paggi House. The event will feature artwork by a distinguished group of artists and photographers to help fund The Nobelity Project’s construction of a new preschool at remote Oloile Primary in the shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro.

The show, curated by The Nobelity Project co-founder Turk Pipkin, will include works by visual artists Julie Speed, Terry Allen, Bob Schneider, Evan Voyles, Sam Yeates, Gareth Maguire, MM Pipkin, Darden Smith and Caroline Wright. Featured photographers include Dan Winters, Scott Newton, Danny Clinch, Gary Miller and noted African wildlife photographers Turk Pipkin, Emmanuel Jambo, Adam Bannister, Federico Veronesi and Rodney Bursiel.

“We are tremendously excited to share these visual works from many of our favorite Texas and African artists and photographers,” says Pipkin. ”It’s truly an all-star show, with more than twenty works of art to be admired and to occupy a place of honor in the homes of some very lucky buyers. We’re indebted to each of these artists for their generosity in helping us build our 41st Kenyan preschool.”
